Meet the TMH Team: Grace

The team here at The Music Hub are the magic behind the music. It is there knowledge, skill and passion for sharing music with others that makes the school work. Following our last introduction to the wonderful Amira, we are going to meet Grace this week. Grace is one of the vocal tutors here at TMH and she is sharing some of her story with us this week.

People often ask me how I got into singing, and the honest answer is… I don't really remember a time when I wasn't singing! From the moment I could talk, I was making music, and it's been a huge part of my life ever since.

Growing up, I loved every opportunity to perform. Whether it was school talent shows, drama productions, choir performances or singing at local events, I was always happiest with a microphone in my hand. My choir teacher was incredibly encouraging and helped nurture my confidence from a young age, while my mum, who is a Christian singer-songwriter, inspired my love for music from the very beginning. Looking back, it's safe to say music has always been part of who I am.

As I got older, I began exploring different styles of singing. I've performed at weddings, acoustic gigs and studio sessions, and I even released my debut single, "Never Again," when I was just 16 years old. Seeing my music available on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify was a dream come true and inspired me to keep developing as both a singer and performer.

I also studied Drama and Dance at college, which gave me even more opportunities to perform and grow as a performer. Ironically, it was around this time that I began to experience stage fright when it came to singing.

As a child, I would happily jump on stage without a second thought. But as I got older and became more self-aware, that childlike confidence slowly faded. Suddenly, standing up to sing in front of people felt much more daunting, and self-doubt started to creep in.

Determined not to let fear hold me back, I began taking vocal lessons with an incredible singing coach. Not only did my vocal technique improve, but little by little, my confidence returned too. With the right support and encouragement, I went on to record several original songs written by my mum and perform them in front of audiences of hundreds of people.

That experience taught me something I'll never forget: every singer has moments of self-doubt, no matter how experienced they are. Sometimes all it takes is someone to believe in you and give you the tools to help you succeed.

That's exactly what I hope to do for my students at The Music Hub.

Whether you're a complete beginner who has never sung before, someone who wants to build confidence, or a more experienced vocalist looking to improve your technique, my lessons are designed to be fun, encouraging and completely tailored to you. I want every student to leave feeling more confident than when they arrived, while discovering just how much their voice is capable of.

Watching students grow in confidence, develop their own unique sound and achieve things they never thought possible is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.

If you've always wanted to sing but never known where to start, I'd love to help you begin your own musical journey. You might surprise yourself with what you can achieve!
