>SAM HURLEY
Tutor

Sam’s love for music began at six years old, listening to Michael Jackson on repeat. Not long after, he picked up the electric guitar and discovered a lasting passion for rock music, inspired by bands such as Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Toto, Queens of the Stone Age and Dire Straits. Those early influences shaped not only his playing style but also his deep appreciation for powerful song writing, tone and musical expression.
With several years of professional experience performing and recording across the UK, Sam has built a strong reputation as a versatile working guitarist. He has collaborated with leading party bands, institutions and agencies, delivering dynamic live performances at events around the country. In 2022, he chose to further refine his musicianship and teaching practice by studying at the Academy of Contemporary Music, deepening both his technical knowledge and his understanding of how to support students effectively.
As a teacher, Sam is passionate about recreating the same excitement and sense of discovery that first inspired him to play. His lessons are structured and tailored to each individual, while maintaining a creative, relaxed and encouraging atmosphere where enjoyment always comes first. A self-confessed enthusiast of progressive music, odd time signatures and global influences, Sam brings curiosity and creativity into every session. Alongside teaching and session work, he is also involved in a progressive rock project, Dreamboat Emperor, focused on technical musicianship and immersive, audio-visual live performances.
